as times change, our caring remains remarkable
RVNA Home About Us

I am 36 years old–okay almost 37–and I have lived in Ridgefield with my two little boys and husband for almost six years.

I have supported the RVNA by attending several of the annual breakfasts because I thought it was the right thing to do for the benefit of the older people who live in our community. It gave me satisfaction to support a cause that helped the infirm, needy and elderly.

I never would have thought that I would find myself in need of the RVNA’s services until this summer when I was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy and Lyme’s Disease that required aggressive intravenous treatment for four weeks. I was unable to drive to Danbury Hospital for daily treatments because the illness caused me to lose most of the vision in one eye leaving me unable to drive. For four weeks, I was cared for in every way by two of the finest nurses I have ever met, Melissa Foglia and Ann Hawkins. Not only did they come to my home to care for me on a scheduled basis, they made unplanned emergency visits as needed and called me periodically to check on my condition. Knowing that there was someone capable and concerned just minutes away brought me tremendous comfort during one of the most difficult times of my life. Having a strong and skilled home care agency like RVNA is an insurance policy for all of us, not just those who are sick or elderly.
