Oftentimes RVNA becomes involved with clients because adult children live out of state or unable to help with their parent’s illnesses or inabilities, but the parent wants to remain independent.  Our Senior Care Manager is able to bridge differences and facilitate understanding and communication among family members.

The Senior Care Solutions program provides opportunities for aging residents to remain independent in their own homes by ensuring essential services are in place.  This program is private pay, fee for service.  It is managed by a licensed clinical social worker, Laura Switzer, LCSW, who has extensive experience working with people who are aging.

An appointment is scheduled to complete an interview, to gather information about the individual’s occupational, medical, financial concerns and how these needs impact on his/her daily life.  The social worker also visits the client’s home to make sure it is safe and may make suggestions on preventing falls and other injuries.

The client's needs are identified and assistance can be provided in arranging for services such as a home health aide, housecleaning service, home maintenance, legal assistance, companion or transportation services.  The social worker also assists as needed with financial and insurance concerns as well as bill paying to ensure that services are not interrupted and the client does not need to worry about these day to day concerns.
