RVNA ensures that our community has access to a variety of important prevention services:

 

Annual Community Health Fair
The next health fair is going to be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at East Ridge Middle School from 10am-2pm.  The fair offers dozens of free medical screenings and informational booths FREE of charge.  This event is open to the whole family!

 

Blood Pressure Screenings
Qualified health professionals conduct blood pressure clinics monthly and at community events throughout the year.  See our calendar of events for days and times.  There is no charge for this program.

Flu and Pneumonia Vaccination Clinics
RVNA conducts flu and pneumonia vaccination clinics from mid-October-January for the community and at local businesses.  Dates are published here and in the local newspapers.  RVNA accepts cash, check, Medicare Part B, and HealthNet Medicare HMO.  Click here for the latest schedule.

Well Child Clinics
Well child, sports, camp, and school physicals and required immunizations are offered monthly at our clinic for children ages newborn through age 18.  Cost is $50 including all required immunizations with a sliding scale available.  Clinics run from approximately 6-8pm.  The clinic is licensed by the State Department of Health and run under the direction of the RVNA maternal/child health nurse, the Director of Community Programs, and a Ridgefield pediatrician.  The Well Child Clinic also offers flu immunizations clinics in the fall for high-risk children.

Meningococcal Vaccination Clinics
Clinics will be held during the spring and summer months.  Clinics are geared toward college bound students.  The cost is $21.  RVNA cannot accept insurance, but will provide documentation so that individuals can submit to their own insurance companies.  Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Call 438-5555 ext. 1119 to set up an appointment.

Travel Immunization Consultations
Customized travel consultations and 15 travel vaccines available.  Open to any traveler over the age of 18.  Call Sandy Weinberg, at 438-5555 extension 1117 to make an appointment.  Click here for more information.

 

Shingles Vaccinations

Available for adults ages 60 and over.  $200, payable by cash, check or credit card.  We cannot bill insurance but will provide you with needed documentation.  Prescription and appointment required.  Call 438-5555 for more information.

 

HPV Vaccinations

Available for girls ages 9-18 at our Well Child Clinic.  Available for women ages 18-26 during regular business hours with a prescription and an appoinment.  $180/dose for a three dose series.  We cannot bill insurance but will provide you with needed documentation.  Please call 438-5555 for more information.

 

Lyme Disease, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia Support Group

Second Thursday of each month from 12-1pm.  For additional information, call Jennifer Reid at 203-431-0462.  Public is welcome and there is no charge.

Wellness Seminars
Seminars held monthly from September-April at Ballard Green.  Seminars presented by Judy Klinger, a licensed occupational therapist for RVNA.  A full range of topics including physical, emotional, and mental strength and well-being are covered in a fun and stimulating atmosphere.  Public is welcome and there is no charge.

Mantoux (TB) Screenings
Testing available for anyone in need of a screening for tuberculosis.  Cost is $25 including the test and the reading 48-72 hours later.
